For those who participate in this experiment, points will be awarded as follows:

Making the correct determination -- 1 pt. (or more or less)

The following will affect the point given for correct determination:

Posting your determination within the 48 hours blind period -- 1 additional pt.
Being the first to post the correct determination-- 2 additional pts.
Being the only one to post the correct determination--3 additional pts.

Source of your determination

The following will either add to or subtract from the points you received for making the correct determination.

If your source is a guess or your own memory--no effect on points given.
If your source is actual research* you have done--1 additional pt.
If you had AI do the research for you--instead of 1 pt., you will receive 1 pity point instead.
If you fail to state your source--instead of 1 pt., you will receive 1 pity point instead.

Added context

Giving additional context will add to your points as follows:

Depending on how much or how interesting ** the additional context is--1-3 additional pts given.

Identifying an allusions

Some APES will include allusions. If you spot and correctly identify an allusion, you will receive 1 pt.

Use of AI in your answer

If you use AI to research or write your answer***, all points awarded will be pity points.

Points and pity points were receive weekly or cumulative prizes, as seen in Prizes.

If you believe that you deserve more points that you have received, you may appeal. See Appeal's Process.
